Migrated and settled in Bangalore, this child and her siblings lived experiencing trauma and saw dysfunctional family dynamics.

Father is alcohol dependent and would physically abuse the wife. Shireen’s parents separated and the children stay with the mother who works as a domestic help.

Family living condition is very poor and backward with issues of safety and protection as the mother lives in a tin shed near   construction sites, unable to provide basic necessities to the children. The child has three younger sisters who are admitted with her in Sanrakshan Rainbow Home.

The child is outstanding in studies, has good communication skills, well behaved and is very responsible. She actively participates in all extra-curricular activities in school and over here. Shireen is loving and caring and respects people of all ages.

Honest and an excellent child, she always takes a lead. Her aptitude and attitude with that of resilience, hope and being independent, her thoughts and actions align to manifest a life of prosperity she wants to live.

She has 5 siblings and comes from a very poor background. The children lived with the mother and her partner. Amulya at very young age lost her mother to alcoholism and soon after this her biological father abandoned the children.

The step father took care of them but unfortunately, within a few months even he passed away. No one was there to take care of the children due to which they moved to their uncle’s house.

But his wife was not okay and would mistreat them, because of which the children were not happy living with the uncle and were referred into child care shelter. The children stayed in another CCI before coming here. They sent Amulya back home because she was aggressive. Nobody wanted to keep the child.

When Amulya and Nisha finally stepped into Sanrakshan Rainbow Home, they were provided the right support that led to the holistic growth and well-being of these children.

Initially Amulya’s behavior seemed unusual and was difficult to handle.

The child was diagnosed with ADHD at NIMHANS and all the necessary treatment for a course period was obtained. She now has suitable intervention plans made for her health by our in-house counselor.

The child seeks for acceptance and love while proving her caliber. A lot of positive change was seen in Eshwari and has used her glimmers as her strength to challenge every obstacle her way and to go on achieving.

She now performs well in academics, is super active and has become responsible and understanding. She is bold, talkative and loves to take care of all the children.

“You can do anything you set your mind to” says Amulya making her way through as she is committed to her aspirations.

The child has had an extremely traumatic childhood. She is an orphan, found on the streets of Bilekahalli, the family used to do rag picking.

Her father died due to illness while her mother was sexually abused, beaten up and murdered by a Scrap Shop Owner and his brother. The mother died Infront of the kids on the street.

Sharanaya was 9 years old then. After her mother’s death, another woman who is the sister of the accused living there took the children away, made them work and used to beat them every day.

Sharanya has three siblings, of which the older sister had an abusive child marriage, conceived and now stays in shelter home along with her child. An FIR case was registered against the abusive man and the case is still ongoing in the family court. The second sister is mobilized at another CCI pursuing her 10th while her younger brother is lost.

The child was terrified when she first came here. She then slowing started mingling with other children while feeling safe she began developing interest reaching her fullest potential.

Sharanya is now very happy to stay with us and has grown to be a very empathetic and responsible girl. She is extremely creative and talented, loves to help and support other children.

Mature and resilient for her age, this little hero always goes out of her way and prioritizes others’ happiness.

Vinitha was rescued by one of the staff in 2018. Her father was unemployed and had a habit of alcoholism and used to physically abuse the wife and children. The mother unhappy with the torture moved out of the place along with children and made her house in another area. She too was unwell due to her unhealthy habits of alcohol dependency.

Vinitha then lost her father to alcoholism and TB. The mother although ill with same illness like the husband, took care of the children until she too passed away.

When the child was first identified, the mother was still alive and had told about her hardships and illness to which she desperately wanted to her children to live in a safe place after her.

By the time the child was rescued and brought to the CCI the following week, the mother had passed away, Vinitha and her sister were seen living in a make-shift settlement alone and would go begging for their survival.

Vinitha did not clearly remember her past and all information sought during induction were narrated by her sister. It was learnt that the child has 8 siblings of which 6 share the same biological father and other 2 are step sister and brother. All sibling details were sought. One of her siblings died at a young age due to an accident and another passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 16

On doing medical checkups, it was reported that all siblings except Vinutha were HIV positive. So they are all now in a Cavalry home. Going through hardships at such a tender age, Vinitha finally found her home in Sanrakshan.

A school dropout, she did not know reading and writing. She worked hard in the bridge course program here and mainstreamed herself to age-appropriate classes and is doing good in academics too, now does her homework and other things independently.

She knows what is good for her and what she should not do. She takes time to calm herself down and is well aware of her emotions, Vinitha always works consistently to be her best self. Her unstoppable courage and strong willpower have made her take on life, winning every battle she chooses to fight.

A girl full of dreams, Radhika was 13 years old when she stepped into Sanrakshan Rainbow Home. Her parents were daily wage workers and lived in a temporary shed. They abandoned all the children and went away.

She has three siblings, the oldest among them is already married and takes care of her siblings, the other two siblings stay with the sister’s family and are pursuing their education in classes 10th and PU respectively. Renuka is the guardian, took care of her siblings by working and later put them into CCI. Rajeshwari studied till 7th in Kodihalli Namma Mane before she came to the CCI. The children have no relatives.

The child recalls finding herself scared and alone when her parents abandoned her. She was a small baby left near a garbage site. The feeling what Radhika went through at such an age is unimaginable. The child has an ear problem from a young age where she was bit by insects when left in that garbage site.

There was no news and whereabouts of her parents when a missing complaint was filled. Devoid of parental care and affection, at Sanrakshan she was provided with all the nurturance that was needed to make her feel safe, she was given a loving environment along with a happy childhood while empowering her to be truly herself.
Radhika is in 9th grade now, hard working, brilliant in studies, highly insightful and courteous. She loves singing and is amazing in how she presents herself and extremely sensible for her age. She has good communication skills and is responsible. Honest, determined and admirable for her problem solving skills, she understanding the depths of life from her experiences always takes a lead to guide her friends in the right path.

The Underlying Trauma makes her not want to vent out or share anything and not have very close friends but is mostly to herself.

She is loving, caring and respects everyone around her. Her resilience and grit in those tough times show beyond doubt that Radhika stands out as a role model to all of us.

This little inspirer is making her way to winning laurels.
